Five Points Bank sweeps Fremont

Five Points Bank recorded a doubleheader sweep of Fremont Thursday at Ryder Park.

In the opener, Mike Buhrman went 5 for 5 with three RBIs and two runs to lead Five Points to a 16-8 victory in six innings.

Five Points pounded out 20 hits. Jake Zeckser was 3 for 4 with four RBIs and three runs and Cole Bauer went 3 for 4 with four RBIs.

Ryan Williams, Austin Asche and Jonny Stoltenberg all added a pair of hits.

Brady Baasch earned the win, allowing one unearned run on one hit with for strikeouts in 3 2/3 innings of relief.

In the second game, Five Ponts scored twice in the bottom of the third inning and held on for a 3-2 victory.

Tycen Nelson earned the win by allowing two runs on three hits with six strikeouts and five walks over 5 1/3 innings. Williams pitched 1 1/3 innings of hitless relief to pick up the save.

Dinsdale Automotive splits

HASTINGS — Tom Dinsdale Automotive split a high-scoring road doubleheader against Hastings Runza on Thursday at the Sith Complex.

Dinsdale Auto (9-10) won the opener 10-6 before falling in the second game 16-5.

Dinsdale Auto returns to Hastings on Sunday for a triangular at Duncan Field.
