CASPER, Wyo. — The Nebraska Danger all but clinched a trip to the Indoor Football League playoffs with an 83-47 win over Wyoming Friday at the Casper Events Center.

The Danger (8-2), which downed Tri-Cities last week in Kennewick, Wash., now have won two straight road games. They play at Green Bay next weekend.

Danger quarterback Jameel Sewell set a franchise record with nine touchdowns in the game. Sewell completed 11 of 17 passes for 204 yards and four touchdowns. He also ran for 72 yards on 10 carries with five touchdowns for the Danger.

“Our team is really fun to watch when we put it all together, and we put it all together tonight,” Danger general manager Mike McCoy said.

Andre Piper-Jordan caught five passes for 76 yards and a touchdown for Nebraska. Kayne Farquharson had four catches for 72 yards and a TD. Jacob Payne and Troy Evans also had touchdown catches.

“We had 49 at halftime,” McCoy said. “It just seemed like everything was clicking. We were running the ball, we were throwing the ball, we had good tempo. Jameel was extremely hot.

“It was a great offensive display.”

Wyoming (1-9) made it interesting early by recovering an on-side kick on the opening kickoff. The Cavalry turned that into an 8-yard scoring pass from Sam Durley to Samuel Charles for a 7-0 Wyoming lead.

“I thought we played with great effort and great emotion,” McCoy said. “Wyoming played very hard too. They were letting it all hang out. They had an on-side kick on the first possession and went right down and scored.”

But the Danger answered quickly. On the first play from scrimmage, Sewell found Farquharson for a 36-yard TD pass to tie it up.

The Danger scored 28 straight points with the final seven points coming on a 57-yard kick return by Ramon Broadway with 12:06 left in the first half.

The Danger upped the lead to 49-21 at the half and the Cavalry never threatened that lead.

Wyoming receiver Sam Charles caught eight passes for 143 yards and five touchdowns from quarterback Sam Durley.

Durley also had a big night with 20 completions in 39 attempts for 232 yards and six touchdowns.
