Richard P. “Rich” Shriner, 74, of Grand Island passed away Monday, June 10, 2019, at Good Samaritan Society of Hastings.
Memorial service and celebration of Rich’s life will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at All Faiths Funeral Home. The Rev. Jim Schmidt will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will be an hour prior the service at the funeral home.
Burial of ashes will be in Westlawn Cemetery, with military honors provided by the United States Army and the Grand Island Veterans Honor Guard.
Rich was born Jan. 22, 1945, in Grand Island, the son of Oliver and Leona (Curry) Shriner. He graduated from Grand Island Senior High, class of 1963. Rich entered the United States Army, serving in Vietnam, and was honorably discharged in 1967.
Those left to cherish his memory include his two daughters, Patience Cohen of Hastings and her son, Bryce Cohen, and Anne Marie Roberts of Grand Island and her children, Sylvia and RJ; a brother, David (Laura) Shriner of Wichita, Kan.; a sister, Linda Tobin of Lincoln; a sister-in-law, Sheryl Shriner; and dear friend, Rachael Ames of Kearney.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lois; and a brother, Mike Shriner.
