John graduated from Grand Island Senior High School in Nebraska and the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. He began his 40-year career at Wells Fargo (previously Norwest) as a management trainee. He retired as head of Institutional Brokerage & Sales.
John loved his wife, Connie, with whom he had great adventures with traveling and enjoying life; watching his children grow and have families of their own; and tracking the stock market. He also enjoyed Husker football, a good prime rib and any golf course. Golf was the backdrop of many stories in his life. Another great joy was becoming “Bop Bop” to his two granddaughters and three grandsons. He was never shy about telling a story or three about them.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Connie; children, Chris (Holly) McCune and Kathryn (Chris) Atterberry; grandchildren, Sierra, Malayna, Cameron, Kellen and Greyson; sisters, Pat McCune and Cindy (Dave) Lorenzen; many nieces, nephews and friends.
