SPALDING — Robert “Bobby Joe” Glesinger passed peacefully in his favorite chair at home on Friday, June 7, 2019.
Bobby Joe was born to Joseph Leo and Helen Rutledge Glesinger on July 3, 1930. At the age of 13, he began working with his father at the filling station and he continued working at something until the day he died. He graduated from Spalding Academy and lived his entire life in Spalding. For many of those years he owned Glesinger Motor Company.
Bobby and Eleanor Eve Killion were married 69 years ago on June 10, 1950.
He is survived by his wife, Eleanor; four daughters, Jane Heany (Tom) of Lincoln, Julie Klahn of Omaha, Jill Foltz (Gerald) of Grand Island and Jeri Zoucha (Joe) of Albion; a sister, Jeanne Johnson of Normal, Ill.; a brother, Frank Glesinger of Spalding; along with 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by infant daughter, Amy Louise, and grandson, Sam Foltz.
Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Thursday, June 13, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Spalding, with funeral Mass following at 2. Private burial will be at a later date. Memorials are suggested to Sam Foltz Memorial Foundation.
