Arthur F. “Art” Osterman, 77, of Grand Island passed away Friday, March 8, 2019, surrounded by the love of his family.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at All Faiths Funeral Home.
Celebration of Life services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at All Faiths Funeral Home. Dan Naranjo will officiate. Military honors will be rendered by the U.S. Army and Untied Veterans Honor Guard. Cremation will follow the service.
Art was born Oct. 22, 1941, in Clarks, the son of Robert and Goldie (Pierce) Osterman.
Art graduated from Clarks High School and enlisted in the United States Army.
While employed at Skagway, he met the love of his life, Voncelle Lang, and they were soon married and made Grand Island their home.
Art worked for the Grand Island Police department, and then made his career as a repairman for the phone company until his retirement in 2003.
Art found peace in the outdoors. He loved to hunt, fish, camp and ride his Harley on the open road.
His memory is cherished by his wife of 53 years, Voncelle of Grand Island; daughters, DeeDee Brockman (Bryan Ellington), and Jennifer Osterman of Grand Island; a grandson, Josh Brockman of Illinois; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Dennis and Connie Osterman of Grand Island, and Bob Osterman of Omaha; along with numerous extended family and friends.
Art was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Evelyn Lang.
Memorials are suggested to the Morrison Cancer Center in Hastings.
