GRESHAM - This year’s version of the Gresham Fireman’s Picnic started Saturday, peaked Sunday under glorious skies and ended Monday with Memorial Day services at 9 a.m. followed by a pancake feed.

Saturday was for horseshoe pitchers, a fun run, the fire department’s water fight, the Gresham Tractor Drive and, in the evening, the Gresham Alumni Banquet.

Sunday began with a community-wide worship service and opening of the eighth-annual car and tractor show sponsored by The Big Horn bar on main street.

There was a butterfly release Sunday morning at Gresham Memory Park to memorialize those who were taken too soon by cancer and of course the traditional bouncy-house for kids.

The Gresham Community Club served pie and ice cream before the parade, after which the crowd lined up deep and long to get at the fire department’s fabled Windsor Loin Barbecue, a popular feature over many years of Gresham picnics.

Sunday ended in full festive mode with entertainment by the group ‘Mojo Filter’ in the Beer Garden at the Big Horn.
