A reward of up to $1,000 will be paid after law enforcement agencies have determined the seriousness of the crime and the usefulness of the information.

Grand Island Police

The following felonies were reported:

— Dave Davenport Jr., 37, Grand Island, was charged Tuesday in Hall County Court with violating a protection order with prior protection order convictions. Police say he was with Kayla Melgaard even though he had a protection order prohibiting any contact with her. Melgaard was arrested for false reporting. Police say Melgaard gave them an incorrect name. She later admitted that she lied so Davenport would not get into trouble for violating his protection order, according to the police media report. Davenport’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. Aug. 6.

— Paula Dygert reported that her husband’s 1989 Chevy S-10 pickup was stolen. It was later recovered, occupied, by two people. It was also determined that the vehicle had been involved in an accident with a parked vehicle, also owned by Paula and Ryan Dygert. Javier Borges-Valdes, who was arrested, was charged Tuesday in Hall County Court with theft by unlawful taking totaling $501 to $1,499 with subsequent offenses and leaving the scene of an accident, failure to furnish info, first offense. Preliminary hearing for Borges-Valdes, 21, is set for 10 a.m. Aug. 6.

— Steven Smith, who is a convicted felony, was allegedly found in possession of a machete Monday at 311 S. Pine St. In Hall County Court Tuesday, the 48-year-old Grand Island man was charged with possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person. Preliminary hearing set for 10:30 a.m. Aug. 6.

— Michael Flynn reported that a 2013 black MMW was stolen from the lot at Auto Central, 2204 W. Second St., on Saturday.

Hall County Sheriff

— Randall Harders of Wood River reported theft by deception Tuesday afternoon.

— Juan Miguel Garcia Fonseca, 28, Grand Island, contributing to the delinquency of a child, six months in jail with credit for six days served, ordered to pay $1,365 to Board of Prisoners.

— Melinda A. Fischer, 46, Grand Island, theft by deception totaling more than $5,000, 36 months probation, 150 hours community service, house arrest 30 days, ordered to pay $11,000 restitution.

— Anillas O. Hernandez Lopez, 30, Grand Island, attempt of a Class 4 felony, 100 days in jail with credit for 113 days served.

Hall County Court

— Amber Arrellano, 37, homeless, was charged with possession of an exceptionally hazardous drug with intent to distribute and criminal possession of four or more financial transaction devices. Preliminary hearing set for 9 a.m. Aug. 1.

Driving under the influence: Abdulkadir I. Iman, 31, Grand Island, DUI-alcohol, first offense, $500 fine, six months probation, driver’s license revoked 60 days.
