Anyone with information about any crime in the state may call the Grand Island-Hall County Crime Stoppers, (308) 381-8822. Callers will remain anonymous.

A reward of up to $1,000 will be paid after law enforcement agencies have determined the seriousness of the crime and the usefulness of the information.

Grand Island Police

The following felonies were reported:

— Friday evening, an officer responded to a call at the Relax Inn, 507 W. Second St. Contact was made with Sharmarke Mohamud, Vilean Grashorn and Harshvarhan Barot. Police say Mohamud was yelling and disturbing the peace of residents at the Relax Inn. Sharmarke allegedly used his right leg to kick the officer, causing physical pain. Sharmarke, 33, was transported to the Hall County Detention Center. Monday in Hall County Court, he was charged with disturbing the peace and third-degree assault of an officer or health care professional. Preliminary hearing set for 10:30 a.m. July 1.

— A 15-year-old male was arrested for second-degree assault Saturday at Boys Town. The suspect allegedly threw a triangle pool rack at a Boys Town employee, striking her in the face. The victim reported that she felt physical pain.

— A juvenile male reported being blackmailed by another party. The juvenile sent explicit photos earlier in the day to another party. The other party then threatened to release the photos unless they were given a certain amount of money.

— On Saturday morning, police contacted three people inside a parked vehicle at the Resident Suites hotel. Kathie Zimmer was found to have a meth pipe along with a syringe in her purse, police say. She was cited for possession of a drug paraphernalia and released. Police say Abdikarin G. Ali, 46, was found to have methamphetamine in his pants pocket and was arrested. In Hall County Court Monday, he was charged with possession of a controlled substance. His preliminary hearing is set for 11 a.m. July 11.

— Domestic assault and possession of marijuana were reported in southern Hall County Friday night.

— Theodore Stave of Grand Island reported the theft of a bicycle in the Doniphan area Saturday.

— Jose Guerrero-Lopez, 26, Grand Island, accessory to a Class II or IIA felony, 146 days in jail with credit for 146 days served, nine months post-release supervision.

— Richard L. Richardson, 49, Grand Island, was charged with committing child abuse intentionally with injury on May 28. Preliminary hearing set for 11 a.m. July 12.

Driving Under the Influence — Clayton C. Carruth, 55, Grand Island, DUI-alcohol, second offense, $500 fine, 30 days in jail, driver’s license revoked 18 months.
