The Arc of Central Nebraska will have its 56th annual Honey Sunday event Nov. 4 in Grand Island. The event raises funds to support with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families in Hall and Howard counties.
Volunteers will be going door to door, asking people to offer their support by buying honey. In addition, members of The Arc of Central Nebraska and other area groups will be selling honey at several retail locations, including Walmart, Sam’s Club, Shopko and both Super Saver locations from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Nov. 3 and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Nov. 4.
Those who wish to volunteer can gather at 1 p.m. Nov. 4 at Resurrection Catholic Church at 4130 Cannon Road. They will be assigned a neighborhood or can choose their own neighborhood to sell. At 4 p.m., the volunteers will take back any unsold honey and gather for a light supper at the church.
