GILTNER — The Giltner community will go back to the 1980s as the theme for the Giltner Daze parade is “The 80’s.” The parade will start at 11 a.m. on Saturday.

Giltner Daze kicks off today (Friday) with the Giltner High School Alumni Banquet at the Giltner Elementary School Gym. The banquet starts at 7 p.m.

On Saturday, the event starts at 8 a.m. with the Giltner Lions Club sponsoring a freewill donation breakfast at the Giltner Community Center.

Other activities planned for Saturday include:

— A free bike rodeo and car seat demonstration in front of the community center from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.

— Children’s penny dig at 9:30 a.m. by the water tower.

— Kids games at 9:30 a.m. at Reeson’s Pioneer Building.

— A kids bike parade at 10:45 a.m.

— At noon, the Giltner United Methodist Church will have a freewill donation sloppy joe meal at the community center.

— A tractor pull will be at 1:30 p.m.

— Golf cart obstacle course at 3 p.m.

— A street dance starting at 8 p.m.
