A 21-year-old Grand Island woman was arrested Thursday at Walmart North, accused of a method of shoplifting known as skip scanning.
The practice can be carried out by an individual at stores that have self-checkouts. Or it may be done at traditional checkouts with the assistance of an employee. People who engage in the practice scan some items correctly but not all.
Kali Bussinger allegedly stole 14 items from the store that had a value of $97.11. The arrest was made at 6 p.m.
Bussinger was found to have two previous shoplifting convictions. She was arrested for theft by shoplifting totaling less than $500, third offense.
