CENTRAL CITY — The Merrick County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a family of plastic lawn flamingos following an incident that occurred sometime between 10 p.m. Thursday and 8:30 a.m. Friday.

In a Facebook post Sunday, the sheriff’s office said five plastic flamingos were reported missing and one was destroyed by vandalism. The flamingos were set up in a part of town to raise funds for the Central City post-prom and served as a “safe project collecting funds for the students prom activities.”

Anyone with information about the stolen plastic lawn flamingos is urged to call the Merrick County Sheriff’s Office at (308) 946-2345.
