A 37-year-old Grand Island man told police he pulled the fire alarm of an occupied apartment complex Saturday simply because he was bored.
David Szafrajda, who was arrested, is listed as homeless. The crime occurred at 3033 W. Capital.
Police say he made several 911 hangup calls and then pulled the fire alarm, causing apartment residents to fear for their safety. The incident occurred at about 9:45 a.m., according to the police media report.
In Hall County Court Monday, Szafrajda pleaded not guilty to false reporting, which is a Class 1 misdemeanor.
Judge Arthur Wetzel scheduled a hearing for 2:30 p.m. Aug. 12. He was released on a personal recognizance bond.
