QuickBooks training planned in Stromsburg

STROMSBURG — A Basic QuickBooks workshop will be offered to local entrepreneurs and business owners on March 12 in Stromsburg.

This free event is sponsored by the Center for Rural Affairs’ Rural Enterprise Assistance Project Women’s Business Center and the Stromsburg Chamber of Commerce.

The session is set for 5 to 8 p.m. at the Stromsburg Public Library, 320 Central St.

“Accurate recordkeeping can be beneficial to the success of an entrepreneur’s business,” said Kim Preston, REAP Women’s Business Center director. “Recordkeeping can quickly identify past due accounts and help collect those accounts in a more timely manner. That helps cash flow and viability.”

Small business owners will learn how to organize and set up businesses in QuickBooks, and how to enter transactions.

Kelly Abrahams will lead the course. The Stromsburg Chamber of Commerce will provide light snacks.

Registration is required by March 5. To register, contact Monica Tidyman at (402) 764-7681 or stromsburgpl@gmail.com.

Do More Good Conference set for May in Lincoln

LINCOLN — Global thought leaders from Disney, B Labs, Conscious Capitalism and others will converge in Lincoln for the Do More Good conference at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Innovation Campus.

This first-of-its-kind event will be May 16–17. It will be the first time the major impact-focused organizations B Labs, 1% for the Planet and Conscious Capitalism will be at the same event.

Attendees will not only learn how putting purpose behind profit will create growth in the communities in which companies reside, attract top talent and lead to new revenue streams previously unavailable, but will also walk away with a roadmap featuring tangible next steps for their organization or business.

“Firespring is deeply devoted to creating positive impact in our community. The Do More Good conference will bring corporate leaders to the heartland to learn how putting people before profits is a sustainable business model,” said Firespring CEO and Do More Good conference speaker, Jay Wilkinson.

Conference registration is open to any business or business leader who is interested in joining the conversation in how to leverage a more impactful and meaningful bottom line. Tickets for the conference are available at domoregoodconference.com through April 26.
