Artwork drawn by Knickrehm Elementary fifth-graders will be featured in the 2019 “Nebraska: Don’t Waste It” environmental calendar. Adrian Lopez Chavez was selected to have his artwork featured on the calendar’s cover as part of a statewide contest sponsored by the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality (NDEQ). Knickrehm fifth-graders Autumn Asche and Laura Jose Tercero also had their artwork selected for the calendar.
The students whose submissions were selected for the 2019 calendar were invited to a ceremony at the State Capitol on Aug. 6, where they were honored by Gov. Pete Ricketts and NDEQ Deputy Director Kara Valentine.
