LINCOLN — “Speaking of Nebraska” returns to NET for an eight-week run beginning April 18.
The series offers insightful discussion with experts about issues that are important to Nebraskans.
“Speaking of Nebraska” will air on television Thursday nights on NET. On April 18 and 25, it will air at 8:30 p.m., following “Nebraska Stories.” Beginning May 2 and continuing through June 6, it will air at 8 p.m. The series will also air on radio at 6:30 p.m. every Friday beginning April 19, followed by “Fresh Air.”
Scheduled topics include: Nebraska Supreme Court with Chief Justice Mike Heavican, April 18; Yazidi refugees in Nebraska with U.S. Representative Jeff Fortenberry, April 25; Nebraska’s farm economy, May 2; University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s history and future with Chancellor Ronnie Green, May 9; the impact of flooding in Nebraska, May 16; tourism, May 23; teen suicide, May 30; and youth sports and injuries, June 2.
NET News Director Dennis Kellogg will host the series. Each “Speaking of Nebraska” episode will feature Unicameral updates from NET News Legislative Reporter Fred Knapp, as well as a weekly update about Nebraska’s recovery from devastating spring flooding.
