CAIRO — “There’s No Place Like Home” is the theme of this year’s Cairo Cornstalk Festival.

Events will start Friday, June 7, with free hot dogs and hamburgers by SonLight Bible Fellowship Church at Pool Park at 5:30 p.m. and go through Saturday, June 8, ending with a street dance beginning at 9 p.m. Saturday evening featuring the Emmett Bower Band.

Events include free swimming, car wash, RockIt Events from Kearney, turtle races, pool games, bingo and a Pitch tournament.

There will be a community parade on main street beginning at 10:30 a.m. with Marvin Roth as grand marshal.

There will also be a new tasting event called “Beef, Bottles & Bands” at the Cairo Community Center from 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, June 8.
