This perfect-for-summer smoothie is closer to a frappe than the health food-inclined drinks most people associate with the term.

If you'd like to health it up, substitute low-fat vanilla frozen yogurt and low-fat milk.

Blueberry Summer Smoothie

Start to finish: 10 minutes

  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 cup vanilla ice cream
  • 1 tablespoon frozen orange juice concentrate
  • 1⁄2 cup whole milk
  • Pinch salt
  • Pinch cinnamon
  • 1⁄2 cup club soda

In a blender, combine the blueberries, banana, ice cream, orange juice concentrate, milk, salt and cinnamon. Puree until very smooth. Add the soda water and puree for 1 to 2 seconds, or until just mixed. Serve immediately.

Makes 2 servings.
