LINCOLN — The mistakes that plagued Nebraska throughout its up-and-down 8-4 regular season continued showing up in Friday’s 38-17 loss to Iowa.
Already playing with a makeshift offensive line, depleted receiver corps and their third-team quarterback due to injuries, the Cornhuskers (8-4, 5-3 Big Ten) couldn’t overcome a litany of additional miscues against the Hawkeyes (8-4, 5-3). Nebraska was minus-three in turnover margin — NU’s seventh consecutive game where it finished negative in that category — made key defensive mistakes and continued to flounder on special teams.
