LINCOLN — While most of Husker Nation was focused on watching how co-No. 2 quarterbacks Tommy Armstrong Jr. and Ron Kellogg III performed in the absence of starter Taylor Martinez, another Nebraska signal-caller made some memories of his own on Saturday.
Grand Island Senior High graduate Ryker Fyfe saw his first game action as a Husker during Nebraska’s 59-20 victory over South Dakota State before a crowd of 90,614 at Memorial Stadium. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound redshirt freshman made his debut with 7:46 to play and directed NU’s offense on its final two drives.
