-- Tammy Heaton, 227 S. Pine St., reported a burglary there. A PlayStation was stolen.
-- Gordon Hazen, 1428 Ruby Ave., reported a theft there.
-- Lisa Burkhardt, 3003 W. Capital Ave., reported a theft at 235 N. Grace Ave.
-- A 16-year-old girl reported a sexual assault in Grand Island.
-- Clark Kalkowski, 520 Wyandotte, reported a burglary there.
Hall County Sheriff
Law enforcement arrested seven people on warrants in eight cases. The following felony was reported:
-- Chief Industries, 1119 S. Adams, reported criminal mischief at Oklahoma and Adams streets. Vehicles were damaged with graffiti.

-- Eliseo Garcia, 37, 1414 N. St. Paul Road, No. 56, was sentenced to six months in jail for possession of methamphetamine for a Dec. 15, 2006, incident.
-- Debora L. Encinger, 49, 3003 W. 16th St., pleaded not guilty to theft by unlawful taking for a Dec. 1, 2006, incident involving Velma Hill. Her trial is scheduled for July.
-- Leon J. Two Eagle, 29, 423 N. Elm St., pleaded not guilty to possession of Flurazepam and false reporting for a Feb. 14 incident. His trial is scheduled for July.

Arbor Day Poster contest winner
An article about the Nebraska Arbor Day Poster contest tree planting at Knickrehm Elementary contained incorrect information about Trinity Lutheran fifth-grader Bethany Freeling, who was a runner-up winner.
Freeling was one of five runner-up winners statewide, in a contest that attracted 700 student entries. As a runner-up winner, Freeling will be presented a $50 savings bond as well as a certificate for her achievement. Because of her winning poster, Trinity Lutheran also is receiving art supplies and a tree for planting on its school grounds.
Tire collection
A tire collection sponsored by the Hall County Public Works Department on May 3 and 4 will collect up to 200 tons of tires. The amount of tires to be collected was incorrect in Monday's Independent.
Auto Fraud hotline
The phone number to the Nebraska State Patrol's Auto Fraud hotline is (402) 471-1111. The number was distributed incorrectly to all 93 county treasurer's offices in Nebraska and was incorrect in Sunday's Independent.
