Grandparents are Craig and Susan Foss of Grand Island, the late Donald Kosmicki, Bill and Esther Dietrich of Omaha and Jim and Judy Votipka of Geneva. Great-grandparents are Vera Petersen and Evelyn Kosmicki, both of St. Paul, Ruth Jencks of Smith Center, Kan., Jane and Albert Kaiser of Exeter and Vera Nolan of Grand Island.

Law enforcement arrested 19 people on warrants in 20 cases. The following felonies were reported:
-- John Frank, Wood River, reported a burglary at 7567 S. Schauppsville Road.
--Francis Hannon, Doniphan, reported a theft at 302 W. Plum in Doniphan. A vehicle was stolen.

Hall County District Court
-- James B. Greenwood Jr., 50, Portland, Texas, pleaded no contest to possession of methamphetamine for a March 21 incident. His sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 9.
-- Julio C. Torres, 29, Omaha, pleaded no contest to possession of cocaine and driving under the influence for a Sept. 30, 2006, incident. A charge of failure to stop following a property damage accident was dismissed for the same incident. His sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 10.
Hall County Court
-- Rosario Soto Barrazo, 36, 589 E. 19th St., was charged with possession of cocaine for an Oct. 11 incident.
-- Baldomiro Hernandez-Samayo, 31, 707 W. Charles St. Apt. 1, was sentenced to 90 days in jail for attempted strangulation, reduced from strangulation, and third-degree domestic assault, for an Aug. 23, 2008, incident involving Natali Herrera -Sanchez.
-- Matthew M. Hodgson, 29, Kenesaw, was sentenced to one year in jail for third-degree domestic assault and resisting arrest for an April 14 incident involving Flora Hodgson. Charges of strangulation and terroristic threats were dismissed for the same incident.
-- Aurelso Vergara, 69, Glendale, Ariz., pleaded not guilty to possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute and not having a drug tax stamp for a July 4 incident. His pretrial is scheduled for Dec. 10.
-- Khristopher T. Purdie, 25, Grand Island, pleaded not guilty to second-degree assault and using a cane to commit a felony for a June 13 incident involving Gregory Bowker. His pretrial is scheduled for Nov. 6.
