CENTRAL NEBRASKA —

Area births

DAVIS -- To Randy and Katie Davis of Scotia, a son born April 18 at Howard County Hospital in St. Paul. Grandparents are William and Mary Fox of Scotia and Roger and Ruby Davis of Grand Island.

BEDKE -- To Doug and Keri (Reiss) Bedke of Ravenna, a daughter born April 12 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Grandparents are Mike and Karen Bedke of Ravenna and Clarence and Trudy Reiss of Linwood. Great-grandparents are Margaret Bedke of Ravenna, Donna Cafferty of Springfield, Mo., and E. Elvera Walker of Tekamah.

FOURNIER -- To Kai and Amy (Happ) Fournier of Dodge, twin sons born April 23 at Fremont Area Medical Center in Fremont. Grandparents are Jim and Peggy Happ of Greeley, Therese Williams of Holyoke, Mass., and Gregory Fournier of Lebanon, N.H. Great-grandparents are Lois Graff and Ethel Happ, both of Greeley, Elizabeth LaBrecque of Dousman, Wis., and Leonard Fournier of Groveton, Vt.

Grand Island Police

The following felonies were reported: 

 Donna Johnson, 323 White Ave., reported a burglary there. A vehicle was taken and later recovered.

 Gerardo Gutierrez, 212 1/2 E. 13th St., reported a theft at Seventh and Sycamore streets. A vehicle was stolen.

 Julio Molina-Orellano, Hastings, reported a second-degree assault at 613 E. Fourth St.

 Grand Island police officer Joel Hestermann reported an assault on a police officer at 3230 Wildwood Drive.



Hall County Sheriff

Law enforcement arrested six people on warrants in six cases. The following felonies were reported:

 Clinton Gordon, O'Neill, reported a burglary at 415 W. 10th St. in Wood River.

 Marko Tumok, 604 Sutherland, Apt. 3, reported an assault at the Hall County Jail.

Hall County Court

 Curtis S. Bennett, 27, 720 E. Ninth St., was charged with misdemeanor trespassing and two counts of felony terroristic threats for a May 4 incident.

 Jenna L. Wilson, 21, North Platte, was sentenced to one year probation, 45 days in jail and fined $400 for attempted possession of methamphetamine, reduced from possession, false reporting and possession of drug paraphernalia for an April 13, 2007, incident.

 Justin W. Stevens, 26, 115 South Lane, had a charge of theft by receiving stolen property dismissed for an April 13 incident involving property of David Lawson.

 Scott A. McClay, 24, Ericson, was charged with writing an insufficient/no funds check for a March 11 incident.

 Martin Barboza-Cruz, 23, 518 E. Capital Ave., No. 16, was charged with possession of methamphetamine for a May 2 incident.

 Gary A. Zierke III, 19, 217 Holcomb, was charged with assault by a confined person for a May 5 incident involving Marko Tumok.

Randolph, 26, 1103 E. Phoenix Ave., $400, six months probation, 60 days no driving; Brent W. Iwanski, 23, Ord, $400, six months probation, 60 days no driving; Robert T. Williams, 41, Wood River, $400, one year probation, 60 days no driving; Steven C. Lauritsen, 36, Dannebrog, second offense, $500, 30 days in jail, one year no driving; Kristina R. Flores, 18, 1316 W. Anna, $400, nine months probation, 60 days no driving; Jaime Martinez-Perez, 35, 243 S. Plum, $500, 90 days in jail; one year no driving; Kymberly A. Brehm, 26, Hastings, $400, one year probation, 60 days no driving; Angela M. Jones, 30, 4116 W. Ridge Lane, $400, six months probation, 60 days no driving; Jeremy G. Burnett, 31, Hastings, second offense, $500, six months jail, one year no driving.



Correction

Planning Commission meeting time

The Regional Planning Commission will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Grand Island City Hall, 100 E. First St. The meeting includes a review of the All-Hazards Mitigation Plan. The meeting time was incorrect in Monday's Independent.
