Local births

FARRELL -- To Jeremy and Melissa (Meyer) Farrell of Grand Island, a daughter born Aug. 26 at St. Francis Medical Center. Grandparents are Bob Meyer and Ed and Lori Farrell, all of Grand Island. Great-grandparents are Rosemary and Loren Curtis of Grand Island and Loretta Farrell of North Platte.

SHAFER-BECKSTROM -- To Jason Beckstrom and Alison Schafer of Grand Island, a son born Aug. 21 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital in Hastings.



Area births

HURT -- To Jesse and Kimberly (Wathen) Hurt of Dannebrog, a daughter born Aug. 21 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital in Hastings. Grandparents are Paul and Pat Wathen of Hastings, Vern and Sharon Reichmuth of Ashton and the late Edward Hurt.

LUTE -- To Brandi Lute of Hastings, a daughter born Aug. 23 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital in Hastings.

Grand Island Police

The following felonies were reported: 

 Maria Arias Franco, 111 E. 17th St., reported criminal mischief there. A vehicle was damaged.

 Home Federal Bank, 120 S. Locust St., reported a forgery there.

 Mary J. Stoltenberg, 1004 W. Third St., reported criminal mischief at Third and Greenwich streets.

 Valley Vending, 606 W. North Front St., reported a theft and criminal mischief on East Highway 30.

 Williams Flower Co., 2211 S. Locust St., reported criminal mischief there.

 William Berney, 910 N. Elm St., reported a domestic assault there. A woman was referred to the Hall County attorney's office.

 Gail Prather, 804 W. 10th St., reported a first-degree arson there.

 Wendell's Electric, 821 W. Oklahoma Ave., reported a theft there.

 Tool Barn Rentals Inc., 624 S. Webb Road, reported a theft there.



Hall County Sheriff

Law enforcement arrested 10 people on warrants in 19 cases. No felonies were reported.

Hall County Jail

The Hall County Jail has 167 inmates, booked in 23 people and released eight people.

   

Court report

Hall County District Court

 Edward E. Beam, 18, 3018 W. 13th St., pleaded not guilty to burglary for an April 29 incident involving property of the Alibi Lounge. His trial is scheduled for January.

 Randy W. Craig, 54, 2008 N. Sherman Blvd., pleaded not guilty to sexual assault on a child for a June 4 incident and to sexual assault on a child for an incident that occurred between May 1 and June 5. His trials are scheduled for January.

 Tristan J. Bush, also known as Tristan Letscher and Tristan Letscher-Bush, 22, 1222 W. Sixth St., pleaded not guilty to theft by unlawful taking for a March 2 incident. His trial is scheduled for January.

 Jeanie J. Nichols, 33, 1219 N. Oak, pleaded no contest to possession of methamphetamine for a Nov. 5, 2007, incident. Her sentencing is scheduled for Sept. 30.



Hall County Court

 Andrea R. Carmen, 19, Kearney, was charged with failure to appear for an Aug. 26 incident.

 Sathaphone N. Srivisay, 24, 1615 S. Lincoln St., No. 1, was charged with possession of methamphetamine for an Aug. 25 incident.

 Brett A. Sorensen, 22, 3105 W. North Front St., Apt. 11, was charged with second-offense writing insufficient/no funds checks for incidents that occurred between June 27 and June 29.

 Diane L. Pokorney, 58, 1014 W. Fourth St., was charged with second-offense writing insufficient/no funds checks for incidents that occurred between April 26 and June 8.

 Janet S. Udoh, 21, 412 S. Eddy St., was charged with writing insufficient/no funds checks for a June 19 incident.

Shawn R. Lacy, 22, 507 W. Second St. No. 206, $400, 60 days no driving, nine months probation; Jordan S. Saathoff, 21, 1501 W. Division St., $400, six months probation, 60 days no driving, $2,548 restitution; Chad R. Holbein, 33, 2604 Chanticleer St., Apt. A, second offense, $500, one year no driving, 30 days in jail; Brandon L. Seybold, 19, 1112 Pleasant View Drive, $400, nine months probation, 60 days no driving; Carlos Pascual Ramirez, 22, 922 E. Fifth St., $400, nine months probation, 60 days no driving; Alfredo A. Lopez, 35, Shelby, $400, seven days in jail, one year no driving, $2,959 restitution; Ryan A. Gross, 22, 1524 Coventry, No. 95, $400, six months probation, 60 days no driving; Jason A. Lyngen, 21, 107 Cleveland, $400, one year probation, 60 days no driving; Ramon Mesa-Perez, 53, Amarillo, Texas, $400, seven days in jail, six months no driving.
