Police/Sheriff

Anyone with information about any crime in the state may call the Grand Island-Hall County Crime Stoppers, 381-8822. Crime Stoppers guarantees that callers will remain anonymous.

A reward of up to $1,000 will be paid after law enforcement agencies have determined the seriousness of the crime and the usefulness of the information.

Inmate custody status can be obtained by calling the VINE hotline at (877) NE 4 VINE. Information is available 24 hours a day.

If you see a crime happening, call the Grand Island-Hall County Emergency Center --  911.

Hall County Sheriff

Law enforcement arrested four people on warrants in seven cases. No felonies were reported.

 Lindsey N. Marshall, 20, 714 1/2 W. First St., Apt. 8, was sentenced to one year probation for possession of methamphetamine for a Nov. 9, 2007, incident.

Lee is country singer

Country singer and songwriter Chad Lee will be performing a benefit concert for the Special Olympics at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, in the Old Walnut Theater, 504 N. Elm.

The type of music Lee will be performing was incorrect in a Your Ticket calendar listing in Thursday's Independent.
