Grand Island Northwest's Mikaela Klein will play in the Nebraska Coaches Association all-star softball doubleheader Wednesday at the Nebraska Softball Complex.
Klein will play for the Red team which is coached by GINW's Mike Witt. Hastings' Melanie Patrick will also play for the Red team.
The two teams are scheduled to play a doubleheader at 5 and 7 p.m.
Klein, who was named captain of The Independent's first All-Heartland Softball Super Squad last fall, set a Class B state record with 18 doubles her senior season. She hit .456 with 38 RBIs while scoring 39 runs.
Patrick, also a member of The Independent's Super Squad as an outfielder, averaged .383 with three homers, 31 runs and 23 stolen bases.
