Hats off to Mayor Margaret Hornady for shutting down the valve to the JBS Swift & Co. and not allowing excessive waste to be discharged into our community's treatment system. The excessive waste has jeopardized investments of the Grand Island's rate payers. A facility that they have invested in over the last forty years. Now, the City Council is considering having Mayor Hornady bring a corporate management company into our wastewater treatment plant. We, the rate payers of Grand Island need to let City Council know that taking our employees and our wastewater treatment plant into a corporate contract is another valve which Mayor Hornady needs to shut down.
