Let me disabuse your readers of the pattern of falsehoods we continually are burdened with by our Superintendent Stan Mack of the Robbinsdale Area School district in Minnesota. I see he as quoted in the June 21, 2008, issue of the Independent in a story about Paul Dorr working to halt the school bond issue in Ord. Mr. Mack often has a problem with the facts.
On behalf of our committee, Paul Dorr never asked for a ``massive amounts of public information``. The total pages we received from Mack's office per our request, was around 100-110 pages (over half received within two weeks of the vote). It wasn't anywhere near the 750 to 1,000 pages, Mack reports. That is a fabrication. Keep in mind he wanted to raise over $200 million in new taxes.
Dorr recently told me his letter of request for public records was substantively no different than the ones he submitted to the S-D-A school district in Syracuse, NE and the Ponca School District in Ponca, NE. Dorr told me that both of those Nebraska districts provided the needed documents
in a prompt and cooperative manner, without a false complaint like our Superintendent Mack raises. Keep in mind our administrative staff for a district nearly 13,000 in size is much larger than these two small Nebraska schools.
Our material was not ``incendiary`` at all. It was factual and clear. One that voters themselves were wise enough to sort out. These sore-losers misrepresent the truth of our campaign. With so many communities following the lead of local committees which Dorr assists, are we to believe that all these voters are ignorant and so easily misled? Give me a break!
The ``non-resident`` students do bring in a disproportionate special education cost to our district here in the Cities. That is a fact. Many children native to the district are voting with their feet and leaving Robbinsdale. Mack denies the harm he is doing to our beloved Robbinsdale and tries to blame Dorr.
We never once brought up race and in fact Mack, himself, said at a community meeting that the district is having a difficult time meeting the educational needs of the Afro-American students. He said it. Not us and not Paul Dorr!
Don't listen to our Superintendent, as he refuses to listen to our community here in the Twin Cities. Paul Dorr provides a valuable service to all school district stakeholders and I trust he'll be of value to the CARE committee and Ord voters.

Crystal, Minnnesota
