Hearings begin Wednesday on the broader of the two tax reform measures that have been introduced on behalf of Gov. Dave Heineman to fundamentally alter the state's tax system.
The Revenue Committee opens hearings today on Legislative Bill 405. This measure calls for elimination of all Nebraska corporate and individual income taxes, while offsetting that lost revenue by levying approximately $2.4 billion in taxes on 27 different categories of items currently exempted from the sales tax.
