Stuhr Museum will offer free admission to all visitors during the annual Visitor and Hall County Appreciation Day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
Visitor and Hall County Appreciation Day offers a chance to explore Stuhr's exhibits and displays, gift shop, art gallery and hands-on events in Railroad Town, which opened on May 1.
Visitor and Hall County Appreciation Day is a chance for Stuhr Museum to thank its supporters as the museum enters its 41st year.
During the day, hands-on activities will be available in Railroad Town, including games of croquet on the Milisen House lawn, popping corn in the Stolley House and a special presentation on phone etiquette in the Telephone Exchange. On Saturday and all summer long, Railroad Town will be staffed with historical interpreters.
Tours of the Antique Farm Machinery Building will run at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., and the static railroad display in front of the Stuhr Building will be staffed at 11:15 a.m. and 4 p.m., when the public is welcomed to walk through the display's renovated interior. The Hall County Student Art Show will also be up on Saturday, providing literally hundreds of pieces by dozens of Hall County art students.
Stuhr Museum's summer activities will include Vintage Baseball, a special concert that is part of the Meadowlark Music Festival and a new Harvest Festival in September.
