Grand Island Superintendent Steve Joel believes that most of the administrative staff changes for the 2008-09 school year have been set.
Changes that have previously been announced include having Kris Burling, who previously had been Howard Elementary principal, become the new director of the English language learner program for the school district.
Burling is replacing Kerri Nazarenus, who is becoming a superintendent for a school district in Iowa.
It also has been previously announced that Walnut Assistant Principal Rod Foley will become the new principal at Walnut Middle School. He replaces Vikki Deuel, who is retiring.
Josh McDowell, who taught social studies at Barr Middle School last year, will become the new assistant principal at Walnut Middle School.
Tina Mason, who had been a teacher at Gates Elementary and worked last year as a literacy coach for the school district, will become the new assistant principal at Dodge Elementary. Mason is replacing Cory Bohling, who has become a principal for the Centura school system.
Andrew Rinaldi, who taught in the Millard Public Schools last year, will be the new principal at Knickrehm Elementary. He replaces Rudi Hameister, who left the district to become a principal in Iowa.
Julie Schnitzler, who had been the 7-12 principal for Gibbon, will be the new Howard Elementary principal, replacing Burling.
Joel said the latest personnel moves mean all the administrative vacancies have been filled, although it might be possible for a few switches in administrative duties to occur before the start of the next school year.
