The Grand Island school board on Thursday will be asked to appoint attorney Todd Elsbernd to fill the seat of Brian Exstrum, who had to resign from the board because his new job requires him to live in Hastings.
Technically, Elsbernd is only filling the seat until December. Exstrum, who was aware of the pending job change, did not file for re-election to his Ward C seat. Because Exstrum himself was appointed to the school board, he would have been running for only a two-year term on the school board, running through December 2014.
