Local retailers on Wednesday were doing what they could to help customers prepare for and deal with the snow and ice forecast with the winter storm.
“We try to always be proactive,” Hy-Vee Store Director Dave Blum said. “When we first saw this storm might hit last Thursday, that’s when we started contacting our suppliers and anyone that services our store to make sure that we could have product starting last weekend through today to make sure we had plenty because we know people are going to want to stock up. We also want to try to keep them off of the roads on Thursday and Friday.
