A story about a 3-year-old deaf boy named Hunter Spanjer has gone viral, reaching from New York to California and down to Texas, before jumping all the way across the Atlantic to London.
The story, which was first broadcast last week by Nebraska Central News, has been picked up by Gawker, which has helped the original video story go viral. The main thrust of the story is that Grand Island school district officials want Hunter’s parents to change the way he signs his name because the sign language symbol too closely resembles a gun.
