Downed crossing arms and no train at the Union Pacific/Broadwell Avenue crossing early Monday morning resulted in the discovery of a damaged rail.

“The signal crew was called out to see why the warning device at Broadwell was operating when no train was in the area, and they found the broken rail,” Union Pacific spokesman Mark Davis said Monday morning.
