G.I. man charged with possessing 1 pound meth after traffic stop

A Nebraska State Patrol trooper who stopped a vehicle for not having taillights found a pound of methamphetamine and a handgun in the pockets of the driver's coat.

Vine Iron Rope, 24, of Grand Island, was charged Thursday in Hall County Court with possession of 16 ounces or more of meth with the intent to distribute, possession of a handgun during a drug transaction, no drug tax stamp, and carrying a concealed handgun.
