I don't see how a doctor can go to med school,and want to help a person then get a practice, and then turn around and  say I dont want to help Medicare patients.

Thank you to the Independent for the article on "National Adoption Day" in Sunday's, Nov. 16, paper. There is however, so much more to the story and choices of adoption that the article stated. We wanted the public to know about another choice for adoption.

If people would allow a funeral to get through the town as one group it might take five minutes of your time. Today it cost our family extra time to lay our loved one to rest. To top it off some of them couldn't make it to the graveside service since they had to fill out accident reports.

I don't go along with most of what the Mayor does but I defend her right to say what she feels or thinks or what anyone else thinks without being pounced on. To have someone from another town or country tell someone else to apologize for what they say is preposterous, happens all the time.

I agree with the Independent editorial on Friday regarding Grand Island's unique situation as ``on the move,`` while the rest of the country appears to be floundering with despair. We are very fortunate to live in Grand Island, Nebraska smack dab in the middle of the country
