LINCOLN —

If you blinked, you missed your chance at Nebraska single-match tickets at the NU Coliseum, as ticket office officials announced Tuesday morning the entire regular-season allotment of single-match tickets were sold out within 10 minutes.

It was the quickest that the single-match Coliseum allotment had ever sold out. Last year, it took 45 minutes to sell out the entire 2007 allotment, as the Huskers were bidding for a repeat NCAA title. Tuesday's announcement guarantees that Nebraska's NU Coliseum streak will continue this fall, hitting 118 matches in 2008.

"It's not surprising when you know that fans began lining up early this morning outside of our office," NU assistant ticket Manager Kristi Reetz said following the sale. "We planned for them to go quickly, but didn't expect to be out of tickets within 10 minutes of the windows opening. A lot of people purchased them online which helped move them so quickly."

Fans who want to see the Huskers in person still have several options for the coming year. Nebraska has moved its Sept. 12 match against LSU to the Bob Devaney Sports Center. That day begins with St. John's taking on New Mexico at 4:30 p.m., before the Huskers hit the court to tangle with the LSU Tigers at 7 p.m.  Fans that purchase tickets will be able to attend both matches, and sales are going briskly for that matchup.

Ticket prices for the matches range from $8 to $14 and can be purchased on Huskers.com, over the phone at 800-8-BIGRED or in person at the Nebraska Ticket Office.  UNL students can buy tickets for just $5 and have the option of sitting in special student seating in the end courts on the floor or in reserved seating in the B and C Levels.  For season ticket holders, the Devaney Center match against LSU is included in the 2008 season ticket packages.

Groups of 20 or more who are interested in seeing the matches can purchase special group rate tickets for as little as $6 apiece and can contact the NU Ticket Office at 800-8-BIGRED for more details.

Fans who want to get a sneak peek at the 2008 Huskers can now also purchase tickets to the annual Red/White Scrimmage at the Nebraska Coliseum on Saturday, Aug. 23, at 7 p.m. Tickets are set at $10 (adults) and $8 (youth and seniors), while all UNL Students will be admitted free with their valid N-Card.  It will be the first chance to see Nebraska's newcomers, who make up one of the nation's top recruiting classes.
