Mrkvicka reunion

Family of Matej "Mike" and Mary Mrkvicka

Matej and Mary with their daughter, Antonia, sailed from Czechoslovakia to America in 1879. Their settlement was west of Farwell in Howard County. Mike and Mary had 17 children, two died in infancy, Rose and Adolph. Living children were Antonia, Joe, Anna, Laddie, Mike, Mary, Emilia "Rose," Frances, James, Barbara, Adolph and Charles "Martin," all of whom married and had families. Stanley, Rudolph and Frank remained single.

The reunion will begin at 1 p.m. with a potluck meal Sunday, Sept. 14, at the Boelus Civic Center in Boelus. Table service and drinks will be furnished.

Family members attending are asked to bring pictures, stories and memories to share.
