McAlevy family reunion

MERNA -- The Leslie and Hazel McAlevy family reunion was held Sunday, June 29, in Merna.

Those attending from out of state were Len and Deanna Devoto and children, Alyssa, Nathan and Joshua from California; Zachary and Emily Beals and children, Allison and Tory from Minnesota; and Merna McAlevy from Denver.

Also in attendance were Don McAlavy from St. Petersburg, Fla., and his sister Mary L. Bowman from Abilene, Texas. Don was a historian and traced the family back to pre-Revolutionary War days in Pennsylvania. He recently discovered the McAlevys in Nebraska and came for a visit. A two-day celebration was held in their honor.

A big thanks to Melvin Running Bear and Jonathon Miracle for the music entertainment and to all those who came and made Don and Mary feel welcomed.
