Target sent a check for $147 to Heartland Lutheran High School in September as part of the September Take Charge of Education donation.

The payout is a result of parents, teachers and school supporters who participate in the program, which has earned the school $1,645 since 1997.

Through the program, families, teachers and community members can designate an eligible K-12 school to receive 1 percent of every purchase they make at Target using their Target Visa Card, Target Credit Card or Target Check Card. The Take Charge of Education dollars are donated to schools twice a year.
