Project Extra Mile honors Bosselman Inc.
Project Extra Mile presented Bosselman Inc. with the Retailer Award of Excellence at its annual recognition dinner on Aug. 14 in Omaha.
Management at Bosselman Inc. has been involved with the Hall County Project Extra Mile Coalition for a number of years, according to a press release from Project Extra Mile. The business has adopted several policies to prevent alcohol sales to minors, including training for all employees and internal enforcement operations to ensure that its staff is abiding by the standards set in place.
"We are honoring Bosselman Inc. because of their commitment to preventing illegal alcohol sales to minors," said Diane Riibe, Project Extra Mile executive director. "This establishment has outlined clear expectations for its employees and is a leader among other retail outlets that have worked to prevent underage alcohol use."
Bosselman Inc. plans to build Hampton Inn in Colby, Kan.
The Bosselman Family of Companies, which is based in Grand Island, has announced plans to build a Hampton Inn next to the Bosselman Travel Center in Colby, Kan.
Groundbreaking on the new 64-unit inn is planned for October with completion slated for May 2009. The new hotel will be at Exit 54 on Interstate 70.
The "Hometown”-style Hampton Inn will feature a pool, fitness center and conference room, hot breakfast, high-speed Internet access in all guest rooms and padded lap desk.
The Bosselman Family of Companies has eight travel centers, seven Grandma Max's Restaurants, a Sam Bass' Saloon & Steakhouse, 40 Pump & Pantry convenience stores, three Pump & Pantry motels and two Motel 6 franchises; wholesale oil, fuel and propane delivery; truck, tank and trailer repairs; environmental services for the petroleum industry; condominiums and farming.
Child support seminar for employers to be offered
A child support seminar for employers, human resources and payroll managers will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Sept. 12 in the city clerk's office at Grand Island City Hall, 100 E. First St.
It will be one of a series of free informational seminars the Nebraska Child Support Payment Center will present throughout the state in conjunction with the Nebraska Health and Human Services System.
The seminars will cover new hire reporting, income and medical withholding, submitting of employee verification and termination and electronic payments. There will be new 2008 updates and information from previous seminars.
