GRAND ISLAND —

With its most recent donation, Wells Fargo has hit a milestone for its donations to Habitat for Humanity in the Grand Island area.

Wells Fargo awarded $10,000 to the Grand Island Area Habitat for Humanity this year for the construction of a home, bringing Wells Fargo's total donations to the Grand Island nonprofit to $250,000 since 1997.

"We've donated a quarter of a million dollars to helping families and individuals in the Grand Island area realize their dreams of homeownership," said Bruce Eberle, market president for Wells Fargo Grand Island. "This company and our team members are dedicated to helping improve our community and teaming up with Habitat for Humanity to meet a most basic need -- safe and decent housing."

Wells Fargo team members also are donating time as volunteers for this build. Wells Fargo has contributed more than 850 hours volunteering for Habitat for Humanity in the Grand Island area during the past 11 years.

Construction on the newest Grand Island home was completed in September. The house at 1120 N. Cherry St. will be dedicated at 2 p.m. Oct. 5.
