SHELTON -- For the 13th year, cars of every kind will line the business district of Shelton for the Lincoln Highway Festival.

Sunday should see more than 60 cars in town for the car show, said organizer Cyndy Ryan. She said the turnout depends on the weather and she often doesn't get registrations until the last minute.

"People don't like to bring their cars out if it's going to storm," she said.

Ryan said that most of the cars are from the Tri-Cities and surrounding area, but a few years there have been cars from as far away as Lincoln at the show.

She said there is a wide variety of classes for the show and 21 trophies will be handed out. Ryan said the classes aren't determined until the day of the event. It depends on the number and kinds of cars entered.

Registration starts at 10 a.m., and the show gets under way by noon. Trophy presentations will start at 2:30 p.m.

Also as a part of the festivities, a kids tractor pull starts at 2 p.m. on C Street and kids can get fire truck rides at the fire station from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Sloppy joes, Polish dogs, chips, drinks, and homemade pie will be served by the Shelton Historical Society at the American Legion Hall starting at 11 a.m.

The Lincoln Highway Visitor's Center will be open all day Sunday.

For more information about the car show, contact Cyndy Ryan at 390-4123; for information about the Lincoln Highway Visitor's Center, contact Bev Thomas at 647-627 or Bob Stubblefield at 647-6554.
