Johannsen-Carlson

United in marriage were Jenna Johannsen and Thomas Carlson on June 14, 2008, at First Lutheran Church ELCA in Kearney. Officiating was Pastor Eric Lesher.

Michael and Carol Johannsen of Gibbon are parents of the bride. Parents of the groom are Brooke and Donna Eilts of Grand Island.

The couple wrote their own vows. A reception followed the ceremony at Kearney Community Theatre.

Bridesmaids were Kristin Randall, Bekka Belau, Jordan Litherland, Minnie Bahensky and Brittney Eilts.

Best man was Andrew Carlson of Grand Island. Scott Helzer, Theodore Hamilton, Paul Zeleski and Steve Carlson were groomsmen.

Emma Carlson and Kinley Gifstad were flower girls and Maxwell Carlson was ringbearer.

The bride is a 2003 graduate of Gibbon High School and is attending the University of Nebraska at Kearney where she is majoring in musical theatre and music business. Her senior vocal recital will be in the spring of 2009. She works as the host for Fox 4 and 17, Central Nebraska's Local Fox affiliate owned by Pappas Telecasting in Los Angeles.

The groom graduated from Grand Island Northwest High in 2003. He is a senior at UNK where he is majoring in music business. He is also this year's drumline captain for the Pride of the Plains Marching Band.

The couple will both graduate from UNK in May 2009 and reside in Kearney.
