GRAND ISLAND —
The 70th birthday of Carl "Danny" Sallinger will be celebrated with an open house from 1 to 4 p.m. today in the backyard of his home at 2322 W. 10th St., in Grand Island.
Hosting the event is his wife Bonnie Sallinger. His family also includes daughter Christine McKnight of Seward; sons, Mike and Patrick Sallinger, both of Grand Island, and Jeff Sallinger of Wisconsin; stepchildren, Joe Starkey of Alabama, Teresa Starkey of Grand Island and Steven Starkey of Council Bluffs, Iowa. He has 23 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Carl Sallinger was born Aug. 25, 1938, in Niangua, Mo.
