Ruth Bombeck, 90

The family of Ruth (Plautz) Bombeck will be hosting an open house in celebration of her 90th birthday. The event is planned from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Shelton.

Ruth was born Oct. 19, 1918, in Ayr and married William Bombeck, now deceased.

Her family includes sons and daughters-in-law Lynn and Janice Bombeck, Donnell and Diane Bombeck, Craig and Sue Bombeck, all of Shelton, and Roger and Sharon Bombeck of Scotia and the late Richard Bombeck. She also has 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
